Merry Christmas!!!!!!!

For today's posting I would like to revisit the significance of the Holiday by sharing some lovely holiday quilts and some that I've made over the years.

Christmas is a very special time of year, clearly. It is interesting to think about the fact that, for example, the entire commodity nexus would most likely collapse if the holiday were to dissappear off the face of the earth, considering that Christmas revenues usually count for a huge percentage of a big-box or boutique retail establishment's yearly revenue.

Interesting also is to think about the fact that, aside from the religious significance of what we are celebrating, the main spokesperson for the holiday in America evolved from a Coca-Cola ad-agency fabrication. Also surprising is that, contrary to popular belief, many small children (the target demographic, as it were) are frightened to death of him.

But besides all those common-yet-uncommon reflections on the Season, those who connect with a spiritual dimension to this time are welcome in my book. And if nothing else, it IS a great time to get together with loved ones, splurge on things one otherwise ought not, and eat lots of cake.

Mainly, the season is a great time to use creativity to celebrate it. Here I am showing some of the quilts I've made over the years, as well as some other related items.
